Suzanne Moore is a Guardian journalist whose article on voting to leave the EU influenced my decision to do likewise. Her stated opinion was that she would vote leave, but was waiting for the remain campaign to persuade her. Again that was where I stood. She switched to supporting remain the day before the vote in protest at what she saw as the racism of the leave campaign. That is the point at which we diverged. I continued to wait and wait for the remain campaign to say something positive about the EU. I had begun to write website articles about the referendum from the time of Moore's first article and after both I and the UK as a whole voted to leave I started turning those early web reflections into Brexit in Context. Moore has continued in the broader Guardian strain of writing as a disaffected remainer, which suggests that either peer pressure or editorial policy was the ultimate reason behind her switch away from supporting Brexit.
